Cricket Association Grade Rules
LEAGUE COMPETITIONS
EXCEPT TURRIFF CUP
All league matches shall be limited to a maximum of 90 overs.
The second innings shall consist of the balance of overs remaining
after dismissal of or declaration by the side batting first, an
unfinished over in the first innings to count as a completed one. The
team batting first may bat no more than 46 overs.
No bowler may bowl more than 15 overs in an innings.
In the event of a match being unfinished due to weather conditions,
the percentage system shall come into play, (although clubs may agree
to replay the match at a later date), unless a minimum of 55 overs
have been completed, in which event the result shall stand as a draw
with points awarded as per table below.
Ten points shall be awarded for a win and five to each team in the
event of a tie. In the event of a draw after 90 overs, the points
awarded shall be determined by the duration of the 1st innings as per
the following table with team A being the side batting 1st and Team B
the side batting 2nd:
1ST INNINGS DURATION Pts TO TEAM A Pts TO TEAM B
42 overs 7 1
43 overs 6 2
44 overs 5 2
45 overs 4 3
46 overs 3 3
Twenty bonus points shall be automatically awarded to the winning
team. For other sides, one bonus point shall be awarded to a batting
side on scoring 50 runs and one additional point for each additional
10 runs, up to a maximum of ten bonus points. Bonus points for bowling
shall be awarded one per wicket.
In the event of an unfinished game due to weather, the bonus points
earned by each side up until closure shall be awarded unless the side
batting second has batted more than 48 overs, in which case that side
shall receive no bonus points.
From 2003 onwards any game which is abandoned or postponed shall
automatically be "Void" and not replayed. The only exceptions to this
are 1) if both sides decide to play the fixture at some later date and
inform the Grades Secretary in good time and 2) if the game in
question is the 2nd fixture between two sides who were unable to
fulfill the 1st fixture.
All clubs shall be required to use the 'Dukes' Special Crown ball in
all Grade competitions.
